Nurturing Women’s Growth in BPI-CRPSD Urban Gardening Seminar

“While the saying ‘Behind every successful man is a woman’ may be familiar, today we celebrate the power and potential of women to cultivate their success.” With this reframed perspective, Mr. Ernie Lito Bollosa opened the Urban Gardening and Plant Propagation seminar at the Bureau of Plant Industry (BPI).

Attendees, who were mostly women and members of the women’s group, gathered on March 12th at the BPI-CRPSD Mushroom Training Room, ready to learn and grow. Hosted by the BPI’s Crop Research and Production Support Division, the event offered valuable insights from experts like Kevin Quiñones on Indigenous Plants, Ernie Lito Bollosa on Urban Gardening, and Rolando Villa on Plant Propagation. Participants received free meals, certificates, seeds, seedlings, ornamental plants, and tapilan beans, providing them with goods to bring them more fuel to their newfound knowledge to life.

In continued celebration of National Women’s Month, BPI-CRPSD will host another free seminar on Basic Mushroom Culture and Cultivation Technology on March 18, 2025, with a focus on women and women’s organizations.

These seminars and workshops highlight the BPI’s dedication to its mandate and to nurturing women, particularly during Women’s Month. This gives an opportunity to actively invest in women’s empowerment by providing them with practical information and resources.
