As a part of the Bureau of Plant Industry’s (DA-BPI) 95th Anniversary, a sectoral meeting on Crop Pest Management commenced on January 21, 2025, at the Bayview Park Hotel. It gathered participants from the Regional Crop Protection Centers (RCPC), BPI Centers, BPI Crop Research and Production Support Division, and Crop Pest Management themselves.
This year’s theme, “Innovating for Climate Resiliency Towards Food and Nutrition Security,” highlights innovation and excellence in addressing crop threats to safeguard food systems and ensure a sustainable, resilient future for all.
Chief of the Crop Pest Management Division, Peter M. Magdaraog, Ph.D., expressed his gratitude to the attendees and emphasized the importance of the assembly in discussing pest updates to raise awareness among BPI members and strengthen preparedness measures. He further reminded participants not to disregard the concerns of those on the ground, stating, “We must remain vigilant and listen to the voices of farmers and LGUs. Clear communication with our partners is essential…”
