The Bureau of Plant Industry conducted the first part of the workshop series, “Planning, Mentoring, and Mapping for the BPI team”, held at the Director’s Office Conference Room on April 10, 2025. The workshop aimed to strengthen team relationships and work ethics, ensure fitness and clarity of job description and foster a collaborative goal setting.
The workshop began with a grounding activity, where participants were divided into four groups to engage in discussions on various topics. One question that particularly sparked interest was: “Is a perfect organization just a myth?” Each group selected a representative to share their insights.
Dr. Lorna Calumpang shared insights on God’s design and purpose for organizations, emphasizing that beyond improving systems and structures, true excellence is found in aligning with God’s standard of integrity and purpose. This does not only apply to the organization but also to individual employees whose actions create ripples of impact in every aspect.
Through the workshop, the BPI staff were given the space to deeply appreciate their roles, not only within the agency, but also within the greater context of public service. It is a reminder that their daily tasks contribute to something far bigger: improving lives, advancing agriculture, serving the community and the nation, and ultimately honoring God.
