The Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Plant Industry (DA-BPI) through the Crop Research and Production Support Division (CRPSD), successfully conducted a free, in-person seminar on Plant Nursery Establishment and Accreditation at the BPI-CRPSD Mushroom Training Room last March 26th. The event drew a diverse audience eager to enhance their knowledge of nursery operations.

Head of the Plant Material Certification Section, Aurora L. De Guzman, discussed the Plant Nursery Accreditation and Certification of Plants; Ernie Lito Bollosa talked about Nursery Management. Meanwhile, Rolando Villa shared techniques on plant propagation such as marcotting and grafting. Attendees also received certificate of participation and seeds.

This seminar aimed to empower participants with essential knowledge and skills, fostering the establishment of nurseries ensuring quality-based planting materials. This initiative directly supports the BPI’s mandate to regulate plant nurseries and uphold stringent plant health standards nationwide.
