The Bureau of Plant Industry – National Seed Quality Control Services (BPI-NSQCS) successfully hosted its second Information Caravan for the year in Tabuk City, Kalinga, on March 13, 2025.
The caravan is part of BPI’s ongoing efforts to promote the Plant Nursery Accreditation and Plant Material Certification Programs in the region. The event brought together nursery operators from private and government nurseries across the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).
Expert resource speakers introduced BPI’s key regulatory programs, including Plant Nursery Accreditation, Plant Material Certification, PhilGAP Certification, and the Movement of Planting Materials. Additionally, participants were introduced to varietal identification and cultural management practices for NSIC-registered high-value crops such as coffee, cacao, and citrus.
The Information Caravan provided a platform for meaningful learning and productive exchanges among experts and participants. BPI-NSQCS remains committed to extending these programs to more nursery operators, encouraging the development and increased production of quality planting materials in the region.
