The National Seed Industry Council (NSIC) invites all stakeholders, breeders, seed producers, researchers, farmers’ groups, and seed industry players, to the 2nd virtual public consultation on the Draft Amended Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of Republic Act 7308. This public consultation will be on March 18, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. The proposed amendments are intended to streamline the NSIC registration process and improve the participation of relevant stakeholders across crop sectors.

This public consultation will present the revised draft, incorporating feedback and recommendations gathered from relevant stakeholders during the first virtual public consultation, as outlined below:

1. Inclusion of other regulatory functions and processes facilitated by NSIC, aside from variety registration, in Section 1, Article 10 of Chapter III.

2. Ensuring alignment of the draft’s provisions with legal and parliamentary procedures.

The NSIC will also respond to additional comments on the draft and clarify specific provisions as needed.
