BPI Supports Safe Spaces for All

The DA-Bureau of Plant Industry (DA-BPI), through the BPI-GAD Focal Point System (BPI-GADFPS), successfully conducted a Seminar on Anti-Violence Against Women and Children in observance of the 18-day Campaign to End VAW at BPI Malate, Manila on November 27, 2024.

Guest speaker, Atty. Areen Kaye G. Agdon discussed the provisions under Republic Act 9262 (Violence Against Women and their Children) and RA 7877 (Anti-Sexual Harassment Act). The seminar offered participants a comprehensive understanding of their rights and protections against domestic and sexual violence and empowered them to advocate for a safer working environment.

The activity, attended by over 30 participants from BPI Offices, aimed to raise awareness and encourage action against gender-based violence. Participants gained insights into legal frameworks protecting vulnerable populations and highlighted the crucial role of community involvement in addressing these challenges.

Through this initiative, the BPI creates a culture of respect and accountability and reinforces its commitment to fostering a safer and more inclusive working environment for all employees.
