November 13, 2024 | In a bid to promote a sustainable and cost-effective energy solution, Department of Agriculture-Bureau of Plant Industry (DA-BPI) Director Gerald Glenn F. Panganiban, PhD., together with Assistant Director for Research, Development, and Production Support Services, Herminigilda A. Gabertan, PhD., led the inauguration of the Grid-tied (on-grid) Solar System Project at BPI Malate, Manila.
The system is expected to generate clean energy and cut down the Bureau’s electricity bills significantly by offsetting grid consumption of the Administrative Building and other facilities.
This project was led by BPI-Agricultural Engineering Division (BPI-AED) which aims to decrease reliance on commercial electricity, support sustainability goals, and reduce the office’s carbon footprint.
