The DA-Bureau of Plant Industry (DA-BPI), through the Office of the Assistant Director for Research, Development, and Production Support Services, led by AD Herminigilda A. Gabertan, Ph.D., conducts training on Technical Writing for Experimental Design, Methodology, and Results and Discussions, at the BPI Conference Room on November 7, 2024.
Guest Speaker Engr. Mr. John Paulo Perido, MSc, an Instructor from Cavite State University (CvSU) introduced the fundamental principles of Experimental Design and explained various methodologies, including Completely Randomized Design, Randomized Complete Block Designs, and Factorial Experiments. Engr. Perido emphasized the critical role of Post Hoc Analysis in interpreting results, which can help improve the quality of reports and proposals.
In addition to the presentation, Q&A sessions, practical exercises, and pre-tests were conducted to increase their learning experience and measure their understanding of the topics discussed.
The training aims to strengthen the scientific writing skills of existing and potential researchers of BPI. This initiative is part of the ongoing efforts to continuously develop BPI technical staff to create reports of research findings and use them as a basis for effectively crafting research proposals.
Attendees included representatives from various BPI Divisions and BPI Centers, with others joining the meeting via Zoom.
