Malate, Manila | The Bureau of Plant Industry (BPI) launched a three-day Technical Writing Workshop, “Strengthening Scientific Writing Skills for Potential Researchers,” at the BPI Conference Room on October 22, 2024. Participants started the event by sharing their goals and challenges in scientific writing through group discussions. Dr. Lorna M. Calumpang opened the session by explaining the scientific writing process, emphasizing accuracy and accountability in research, from idea generation to publication.
BPI Assistant Director Dr. Herminigilda Gabertan shared her research journey and emphasized the crucial role of integrity at every stage. She encouraged participants to approach research with dedication and honesty, regardless of their experience.
BPI Director Dr. Gerald Glenn Panganiban urged participants to make the most out of the training and apply the knowledge gained. He recognized the expertise of the resource speakers, whose insights are invaluable to their progress as researchers.
The afternoon session and the following two days will delve deeper into the intricacies of writing research papers.
