The Bureau of Plant Industry proudly congratulates Director Gerald Glenn F. Panganiban, Ph.D., on receiving the 2026 UPAA Distinguished Alumni Award in Science and Technology: Urban and Peri-Urban Agriculture from the University of the Philippines Alumni Association.

The award recognizes Director Panganiban’s outstanding leadership and significant contributions to advancing urban and peri-urban agriculture, sustainable food systems, scientific innovation, and public service. As Director of BPI, he continues to champion science-based programs that strengthen plant health, crop production, research, and innovation in support of food security and the welfare of Filipino farmers.
