Despite the rainy weather today, August 12, 2026, learning remained at the heart of the day as the Department of Agriculture – Bureau of Plant Industry (DA-BPI), through the Crop Research and Production Support Division (CRPSD), conducted its monthly capacity-building activity on Plant Nursery Establishment and Plant Nursery Accreditation at the CRPSD Nursery Area Training Room. Bringing together participants from Manila, Quirino, Cavite, Camarines Sur, Quezon, Antipolo, and other areas, the activity provided a space for aspiring and starting plant nursery operators, farmers, and agricultural enthusiasts to learn the knowledge and key practical skills needed to turn their growing interests into sustainable agricultural opportunities.

During the training, Ms. Aurora L. De Guzman of the BPI-National Seed Quality Control Services Division (BPI-NSQCS) discussed Plant Nursery Accreditation and Certification of Plants and Mr. Noli P. Garcia of BPI-CRPSD shared essential knowledge on Nursery Management. Aside from that, Mr. Carlo Castillo of BPI-CRPSD conducted an actual demonstration on proper plant propagation, allowing participants to see and better understand the techniques involved in successfully multiplying high – quality planting materials.

Moving forward, DA-BPI will continue to strengthen learning opportunities through regular capacity-building activities, practical demonstrations, and technical guidance to further promote sustainable agriculture and food security in the country.
