BPI Highlights PH–Korea Agricultural Partnership in KBS “Good Morning Korea” Interview at WOFEX 2026

July 29, 2026 | The Department of Agriculture-Bureau of Plant Industry (DA-BPI), represented by Director Gerald Glenn F. Panganiban, participated in an interview with KBS “Good Morning Korea” during the World Food Expo (WOFEX) 2026 at the SMX Convention Center Manila.

The interview highlighted the growing agricultural partnership between the Philippines and the Republic of Korea, emphasizing the importance of science-based plant quarantine, food safety, and international cooperation in facilitating safe, sustainable, and resilient agricultural trade.
­
BPI reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation in plant health, market access, research, innovation, and technology exchange, creating greater opportunities for both Philippine and Korean agricultural products.

The interview also recognized the valuable contributions of the Korea Paprika Association (KOPA) and its member exporters in promoting high-quality Korean fresh produce and further enhancing agricultural collaboration between the two countries.

Director Panganiban likewise underscored the strong performance of Philippine agricultural exports to the Republic of Korea. He highlighted the growing potential of uniquely Filipino products, such as ube and singkamas (jicama), to gain greater recognition in the Korean market as bilateral cooperation continues to expand.

The World Food Expo (WOFEX) 2026 runs from July 29 to August 1, 2026, at the SMX Convention Center Manila, bringing together industry leaders, government agencies, exporters, buyers, and food innovators to promote partnerships and advance the food and agriculture sector.
