July 8, 2026 — The Department of Agriculture – Bureau of Plant Industry (DA-BPI), through its Crop Research and Production Support Division (CRPSD), once again conducted a Plant Nursery Establishment and Accreditation Seminar at the BPI-CRPSD Nursery Area Training Room. During the seminar, Ms. Aurora L. De Guzman of the BPI-National Seed Quality Control Services Division (BPI-NSQCS) discussed Plant Nursery Accreditation and Certification of Plants, while Mr. Noli P. Garcia presented Nursery Management. Meanwhile, Mr. Rolando Villa of CRPSD conducted a hands-on demonstration on proper plant propagation techniques to help participants better understand the correct methods of propagating plants. Participants from Pili, Camarines Sur; Bulacan; Parañaque; Quezon City; Marikina; and other areas attended the seminar.

Through this seminar, DA-BPI equips participants with the knowledge and skills to produce high-quality planting materials and establish plant nurseries that comply with established standards. By continuously conducting capacity-building activities such as this, DA-BPI helps strengthen the agriculture sector, improve livelihood opportunities, and support the country’s food security.
