On June 25, 2026, the Plant Quarantine Service (PQS) – Port of Davao successfully convened licensed durian exporters and Food Safety Compliance Officers (FSCOs) at BPI Farmers Pavilion, Bago Oshiro Tugbok,Davao City for a stakeholders’ meeting in preparation for the upcoming durian export season.

The meeting was spearheaded by Ms. Flor de Hasmin C. Bayo, MPA, Regional Manager of PQS–Port of Davao, together with the Export Section staff, emphasizing the agency’s commitment to ensuring industry readiness and regulatory compliance.

Key discussions focused on compliance with plant quarantine regulations, presentation of non-conformities identified during PQS Davao’s audit and validation activities, updates on licensing and registration requirements to facilitate compliance and the allowable export volume for registered growers for the 2026 export season.

PQS Davao reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with stakeholders to ensure that Philippine durian exports consistently meet importing country’s phytosanitary requirements, maintain product quality and traceability and sustain access to international market through compliance with established regulations.
