Malate, Manila – The Department of Agriculture – Bureau of Plant Industry (DA-BPI), through its Crop Research and Production Support Division (CRPSD), conducted a seminar on Urban Gardening and Plant Propagation on March 28, 2026, at the CRPSD Training Room.
BPI experts shared practical knowledge and planting techniques that can be applied even in limited spaces to help households produce fresh and nutritious food. Ernie Lito Bollosa discussed vegetable production in urban settings, while Rolando Villa led the hands-on demonstration of propagation techniques such as marcotting, grafting, and patch budding.
The activity aimed to encourage more citizens to participate in urban agriculture, expand public knowledge on proper plant propagation, and promote sustainable gardening practices toward building more resilient communities with access to high-quality planting materials.
