The Department of Agriculture – Bureau of Plant Industry (DA-BPI) successfully conducted a free face-to-face seminar on Basic Mushroom Cultivation Technology and Indigenous Vegetable Production on March 9, 2026, at the Mushroom Training Room of the BPI Crop Research and Production Support Division (CRPSD) in Malate, Manila. The activity formed part of the celebration of National Women’s Month. It was attended by individuals seeking to expand their knowledge in plant cultivation. Through lectures and demonstrations, BPI experts shared practical techniques on the production and proper management of mushrooms and indigenous vegetables.

The initiative aims to broaden public knowledge, especially among women, on sustainable plant production practices and encourage them to become active partners in advancing the agricultural sector.

Moreover, BPI will continue conducting similar training programs to further strengthen the capabilities of communities and provide opportunities for them to participate in initiatives that promote knowledge, capacity building, and livelihood opportunities toward a more vibrant agricultural sector.
