BPI-CRPSD Joins 2026 World Wildlife Day Celebration

The Bureau of Plant Industry–Crop Research and Production Support Division (BPI-CRPSD) actively participated in the 2026 World Wildlife Day (WWD) celebration, organized by the Biodiversity Management Bureau, on March 3–5, 2026, at the Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife Center in Diliman, Quezon City.

Anchored on this year’s theme, “Medicinal and Aromatic Plants: Conserving Health, Heritage and Livelihoods,” the event emphasized the importance of medicinal and aromatic plants (MAPs) in biodiversity conservation, sustainable livelihoods, and ecosystem resilience.

As part of its participation, BPI-CRPSD distributed assorted planting materials to participants and stakeholders, which supported the promotion of urban gardening, enhanced plant conservation efforts, and encouraged sustainable use of plant genetic resources during the event.

Through strong collaboration with partner agencies, BPI-CRPSD remains committed to advancing crop research, promoting sustainable production systems, and contributing to a greener and more resilient Philippines.
