Three (3) farms in the Negros Island Region (NIR) were inspected by the BPI-PPSSD FSOU Cebu for PhilGAP certification from February 24-25, 2026. Two of these are nurseries owned by the Provincial Government and managed by the Provincial Agriculture’s Office of Negros Occidental, located in Victorias City and Himamaylan City. The third farm is owned by Agromedika Corporation and is located in Bago City.
All of these farms were found to be compliant with the four (4) modules of PhilGAP, namely: Food Safety, Produce Quality, Environmental Management, and Workers’ Health, Safety, and Welfare.
The Provincial Government of the Negros Island Region, in partnership with DA-NIR, continues to promote food safety in primary production areas.
