The Department of Agriculture – Bureau of Plant Industry (DA-BPI) held its Entrance Conference with the Commission on Audit (COA) on October 7, 2025, marking the start of the financial audit for FY 2025.

The discussion covered the audit objectives, agency responsibilities, and timelines, including the submission and review of financial statements, evaluation of internal controls, and compliance with audit standards.

BPI Director Dr. Gerald Glenn Panganiban, together with Assistant Directors Dr. Herminigilda A. Gabertan and Mr. Ruel C. Gesmundo, reaffirmed the Bureau’s commitment to transparency, accountability, cooperation with the audit team, and sound financial management in all its programs and operations.

Audit Team Leader Ms. Joy A. Lagac emphasized that the audit will focus on financial, compliance, and operational aspects. She also introduced incoming Supervising Auditor Ms. Velvet Chiqui Manalo. The Bureau expressed appreciation to outgoing Supervising Auditor Atty. Joven Macasinag for his support and guidance to BPI.
