The DA-Bureau of Plant Industry (BPI) conducts a Budget Execution Documents (BEDs) and Project Procurement Management Plan (PPMP) Workshop from October 6 to 10, 2025, attended by the heads of operating units and key personnel.
The activity aims to ensure the timely submission of budget documents, strengthen program implementation, and align resources with the Bureau’s strategic priorities.
In her message, Assistant Director for Research, Production Support Services Dr. Herminigilda A. Gabertan recognized the dedication and hard work of BPI personnel. She emphasized that planning should go beyond documentation. She also encouraged collaboration, capacity building, and the strengthening of partnerships to lay the groundwork for sustainable and future-ready agriculture. She underscored the importance of digital transformation and crop production planning in achieving resilience amid climate change.
Meanwhile, Assistant Director for Regulatory Services, Ruel P. Gesmundo highlighted that effective planning requires focus and alignment with BPI’s mandate and the real needs of its stakeholders. He reminded participants that while resources are limited, their impact can be maximized when programs are responsive, transparent, and well-targeted.
In a message, Director Dr. Glenn Panganiban reaffirmed BPI’s commitment to accountability and the prudent use of public funds to deliver measurable impact to farmers and stakeholders.
The salient features of the New Government Procurement Act (RA 12009) were also discussed by Mr. Rowell Creencia from the Procurement Management Section (BPI-PMS).
The workshop served as a venue to consolidate efforts across BPI units, ensuring that every plan and resource allocation translates into meaningful outcomes for the agriculture sector.
