The Plant Nursery Establishment and Accreditation training took place yesterday, May 14, 2025, at the Bureau of Plant Industry (BPI)-CRPSD Mushroom Training Room. This was led by the BPI’s Crop Research and Production Support (CRPSD), reflecting its mission of developing crop farming technologies and ensuring the production of quality seeds and planting materials.
With the goal of improving the quality of plant materials through nursery establishment and accreditation, participants received lectures from experts from BPI. Specifically, Ms. Diana SJ. Tabudlong covered Department Circular No. 1 and No. 2, Series of 2020-Guidelines on Plant Nursery Accreditation and Certification; Mr. Noli P. Garcia explained the Requirements for Establishing Nursery and Plant Propagation; and Mr. Rolando Villa guided the attendees on Asexual and Sexual Propagation.
Participants were awarded certificates of participation, free seeds, and planting materials to support their nursery establishment journey.
By gaining knowledge of relevant policies and propagation methods, participants are now better equipped to produce high-quality planting materials. This initiative supports the broader goals of sustainable agriculture and food security and fosters collaboration between the Bureau of Plant Industry and its stakeholders.
