The Bureau of Plant Industry – Crop Pest Management Division (BPI-CPMD) organized a series of awareness campaigns focused on the Importance and Use of Biological Control Agents (BCAs). These BCAs include Entomopathogenic Fungi (such as Metarhizium anisopliae, Beauveria bassiana, and Isaria sp.), Predatory Insects (like Earwig, Green Lacewing, Predatory Pentatomid Bug, and Coccinellid Beetle), Parasitoids (Trichogramma spp.), and Nucleopolyhedrovirus, in managing pests and diseases. The campaign’s goal is to promote awareness of BCAs as a crucial element of Integrated Pest Management (IPM), helping to combat insecticide-resistant pests, reduce pesticide use, and control pest populations without compromising the environment.
