The Department of Agriculture-Bureau of Plant Industry’s Agricultural Engineering Division(DA-BPI-AED) and the Department of Agriculture’s National Urban and Peri-Urban Agriculture Program(DA-NUPAP) joined the Army Green Camp Project’s Harvesting Activity. With the theme, ‘”Sustaining Growth, Strengthening of Army Green Camp Project”.This was conducted at the Greenhouse SEB Kamayan Fort Andres Bonifacio, Taguig City, yesterday, February 28. The said project was being managed by the Security and Escort Battalion(SEB) under the Headquarters and Headquarter Support Group of the Philippine Army.
Captain Laymart M. Ramos (Inf) PA, and CMO Officer reminded everyone of the goal of the event. “The purpose of this event is to celebrate our successful harvest, recognize the efforts of those involved, express gratitude for the natural resources, and distribute the produce to our beneficiaries.”
Both DA-BPI-AED and DA-NUPAP representatives helped out in harvesting Kang Kong and Petchay that were planted at the BPI Greenhouse located at SEB Kamayan Lagoon. They also use this time to give seeds to the SEB Office to further support their agricultural farming.
Meanwhile, the SEB Officers took this opportunity to give each of their chosen beneficiaries, a tray of fresh vegetables which included eggplant, okra, katuray, and many more.
Ultimately, the Army Green Camp Project, bolstered by DA-BPI’s support, cultivates more than just vegetables; it sows the seeds for a resilient, sustainable, and food-secure future, fostering a stronger partnership between the military and government agencies in service to the wider community.
