Public Consultation on the Guidelines for Updating Passport Data of NSIC-Registered Varieties

The Department of Agriculture-Bureau of Plant Industry’s National Seed Industry Council (NSIC) invites all stakeholders—breeders, seed producers, researchers, farmers’ groups, and industry players—to a public consultation on the draft Department Circular on Guidelines for Updating the Characterization and Passport Data of Registered Crop Varieties with the NSIC. This First Virtual Public Consultation will be held via MS Teams on March 17, 2025, at 9:00 a.m.

This initiative aims to ensure accuracy in a variety of information on registered crops and enhance efficiency in seed certification. Your participation is crucial in shaping policies that will benefit breeders seeking amendments and updates to varietal data, seed producers ensuring consistency in certification, and farmers relying on accurate variety descriptions for optimal yield.
