BPI Hosts Time and Stress Management Workshop for Employee Wellness

The DA-Bureau of Plant Industry (BPI), led by its Human Resources Section, conducted a Time and Stress Management Workshop at the City State Tower Hotel in Ermita, Manila on November 6-7, 2024.

This two-day event provided over 30 BPI employees, including representatives from various centers, effective ways for managing stress in both their professional and personal lives.

Mr. Edezer A. Carias of COMPETADA Training and Professional Development Services served as the resource person. He shared practical tools and techniques for reducing and managing stress, focusing on the roles of decision-making, attention, and energy in achieving productivity. Mr. Carias also introduced methods such as breaking off or pausing, clarifying priorities, and assessing the true importance and impact of impending tasks. In time management, he emphasized categorizing tasks by urgency and significance, planning and scheduling to avoid stress that may lead to burnout, and leveraging technology to boost productivity.
The workshop aimed to help participants understand the nature and causes of stress while developing effective time management skills through decision, attention, and energy management.

BPI Asistant Director Herminigilda A. Gabertan, Ph.D. expressed her appreciation to the HRS for organizing the workshop. As a senior member of the management committee, she understands that each employee experiences stress at different levels therefore it is important to maintain a healthy life-work balance. AD Gabertan also encouraged participants to reflect on what shapes them, define their purpose, give their best effort, and, above all, be grateful.
Through initiatives like this, BPI-HRS is committed to empowering BPI personnel to handle stressors in both work and personal settings, ensuring they can serve its clienteles effectively while also promoting their overall wellness.
